From Religion to The Way

When I thought being Catholic was enough, Jesus encountered me and showed me that I was on a path to Hell without Him.

The ominous words Jesus spoke in Matthew 7:23, “I never knew you”, regarding those on Judgment Day who attempt to enter Heaven with the name of “Jesus” on their lips but no relationship to Him, echoed through my soul. Jesus described Himself as the Good Shepard, and said “My sheep know My voice”, yet I could not recognize His voice from His own words written in the Bible. Despite being raised as a Catholic, I never had truly known Jesus.

When this reality hit my soul, I encountered a vision. In this vision, I was in a wilderness field walking down a long path. I understood this was the path of my life; what I thought was a path to heaven. I felt content and confident on this path. It was a good path. I was educated, smart, kind, generous, an overall good person, and a practicing Catholic. I then heard a voice speak to me saying clearly and loudly, “YOU ARE GOING THE WRONG WAY”. In the vision, I stopped and looked over my left shoulder and saw there was another path going the opposite direction. In an instant, something powerful struck my heart and I knew I was actually on the wrong path! Hopelessness filled me, and with every ounce of my being I understood one thing: “I am going to Hell”. I was going the wrong way. Panic hit me. I wanted to turn around and run back and somehow make it to the other path, but I knew I could never catch up, I was too far gone down this path after walking it my whole life. And just as soon as the realization that I was going to Hell hit me, the hopelessness, panic, and despair flood me, I heard Jesus say, “TURN AROUND”.

In the vision, I turned around and immediately knew this was exactly where I was supposed to be for Jesus said, “I AM the Way”.

The greek word for repentance is metanoia, which means to change your mindset; to actively change direction from going one way of thinking/acting/believing to another. I learned much later that repentance is required to receive salvation through Jesus Christ. I had no idea what it meant to repent at this time, yet without understanding I “metanoia-ed”, I turned around.

In that moment I went from eternally lost to forever found. Turning from trusting in religion and good morals to trusting in Jesus was the difference between life and death.

From that day forward everything in me changed. It would became my life’s pursuit to know my Shepard’s voice and help others know His voice for themselves too.

Discovering the Spiritual Realm

In 2020, when the world collapsed into darkness and deception, God, in His mercy, opened my eyes to the landscape of the spiritual battle just outside the grasp of our natural senses. My eldest son was very ill at the time and the Lord set me and my family on a new path of healing and deliverance that resulted in my son’s complete physical healing. Like dominos, one by one, God healed each of my children of the various health challenges they faced, miraculously. I likewise had my own powerful encounter where God healed me and delivered me instantaneously in a powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit.

The healing and deliverance I have seen in my own family, has inspired me to see all families be set free. Those born of Christ are the New Covenant priests who make intercession by the blood of the Lamb through the power of the Holy Spirit. We have a mandate from God to subdue the earth and restore dominion, just as Jesus did! The kingdom of Heaven is here! Healing, deliverance, and salvation, is here!

Vanessa holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from the University of California Riverside with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. As someone who has always had a great love for understanding the physical world and problem solving, the Lord has used Vanessa’s knowledge and understanding to navigate the tension between the physical world and the spiritual realm and be a Hope Solution-ist in this last-hours era where spiritual warfare is waged against our bodies and souls via modern technology, biological agents, vaccines, and the inundation of chemicals on top of the moral issues of sin and the breakdown of the family.

Our fight is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places. Our fight is truly a fight of faith, for faith, to step into the spiritual reality that we are a royal priesthood and a holy nation through adoption to sonship by the stripes of Yeshua the Messiah. Vanessa is a teacher and preacher of the Word of God, a vessel that carries the blood of Jesus to the nations, and one who equips parents and children in healing and deliverance to step into their kingdom authority. The answer to every challenge of this life is found in the power of the blood of Jesus and the wisdom that comes from God alone.
