Mission
Jesus exalted to His rightful place in hearts, homes, and nations
Ahab was one of the evil king of Israel who took a position of tolerance towards idolatry, witchcraft, manipulation, and sexual sin. Our mission at House Of Jehu is to expose the spirit that holds authority yet allows evil to flourish and does nothing, the spirit of Ahab. We must slay every thing that calls us to compromise and spare not until Jesus is exalted to His rightful place on the throne of hearts, homes, and nations as King.
Jesus Exalted
Our mission is to see Jesus exalted to His rightful place on the throne as King in hearts, homes, and nations.
When King Jesus takes His place on the throne, everything, and everyone else, must bow down. All idols, demons, principalities, governments, nations, and every high thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God must come down. God shares His glory with no one. He alone deserves all glory, power, blessing, honor, and majesty!
2 Corinthians 10:4-5
“For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.”
Philippians 2:9-11
“Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father”
Our King is coming soon! We must make straight the highway of the Lord, repent, and turn to Jesus alone!
We are calling believers to repent of lukewarm “christian” living and complacency, stand in the light, tear down every idol, and expose the darkness until Jesus alone sits high and lifted up in our lives, homes, and nations.
Striking Down the House of Ahab
In order to set Jesus in His rightful place, we must confront the root of idolatry, the spirit of Ahab.
What is the spirit of Ahab?
The spirit of Ahab is an attitude of complacency to idolatry that tolerates a Jezebel spirit.
You can read the full story of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel in the Book of 1 Kings. King Ahab had both authority and responsibility in the sight of God to put an end to the idolatry Jezebel released upon the people of Israel, however, he was silent, complicit, and allowed for all of it. Jezebel was known for witchcraft, Baal worship, sexual immorality, control, manipulation, fear, intimidation and murder.
While the Jezebel spirit carries out evil, makes idols, and creates systems that proliferates and protects idol worship, the Ahab spirit will feel weak and powerless, and in the end, do little to nothing to put an end to the evil. In reality, the person functioning in the Ahab spirit is not powerless, rather they have both the authority and responsibility to choose God and end the toxic system.
To rightsize the situation, not only would King Ahab need to repent of idolatry, but he would have to say “no” to his Queen. Many people who function out of an Ahab spirit, are unwilling to tell their husband/wife/family member/leader/etc., who function in a Jezebel spirit, “no” for fear of loosing the relationship, retaliation, or rejection instead of fearing God. Like Jezebel, though different, Ahab is an idolator and commits the sin of adultery against God.
Queen Jezebel introduced the idols of the world to the children of Israel and came against God’s people, silencing the prophets through fear, intimidation, and murder in order to maintain power and keep her idolatrous system alive. In the end, the Lord not only destroyed Jezebel, but the entire “house of Ahab” in an unexpected turn of events where God commissioned a new King, Jehu, who would eliminate Baal worship from the land and abruptly end the Ahab dynasty.
God always deals with the root of a problem. While Jezebel carries out the majority of the evil, the root of the problem was not Jezebel, but Ahab, the leader who permitted it all. Jezebel was only a symptom of the environment Ahab created. God changed the environment and in doing so eliminated Jezebel as well.
We must look within ourselves, our homes, and circles of influence and examine the environment we are allowing. We are called to come out of agreement with complacency toward idolatry. We are to burn for Jesus alone. Each individual must each strike down the house of Ahab within their life, challenging relationships and comforts that perhaps even at one time seemed godly. Jesus declared that He came not to bring peace, but a sword to separate even the closest relationships based on one thing: is He first?
In repenting of the Ahab spirit, the Jezebel spirit topples out of her tower, and idolatry comes crashing down. We decree Jesus, take Your rightful place a King and Lord!
Clearing the Throne: the Jehu Anointing
When God wanted to deal with Jezebel, He dealt with Ahab. When God wanted to deal with Ahab, He anointed a man named Jehu.
Jehu was the commander of the Israeli army and anointed by God to replace Ahab as the new King of Israel. Not only this, but the Lord gave Jehu a military commissioning to “strike down with the house of Ahab” which included slaying Ahab, Jezebel, and every descendant, family member, false prophet, false worshiper, and sympathizer of the former king.
Jehu was a strong leader who knew his mission. He was zealous, wild, intelligent, and unwavering in carrying out the Lord’s mission.
We are calling the saints to strike down the house of Ahab in the spirit of Jehu. To destroy complacency and compromise, clearing out the idols, clearing out the false worship, that the throne would once again beat in rhythm with the heart of God and exalt Jesus alone.
1 Kings 10:30
“And the Lord said to Jehu, “Because you have done well in carrying out what is right in my eyes, and have done to the house of Ahab according to all that was in my heart, your sons of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.”
Like Jehu of the Bible, we are uncompromising, zealous, and on a mission to cast down all complacency towards idolatry and step into the light of Christ with boldness.
We are loyal to Jesus alone.
We are calling on the body of Christ to do likewise, equipping families to be set free of the house of Ahab, to answer the call of destiny on their lives from King Jesus and step into radical service of our King.
